In this blog you will find mostly Indian recipes and there will be flavours from international cuisine too. One thing I can assure you that whatever recipes you will find here, it will be full of taste and will bring upon a smile on your face.

About me

My name is Manisha and I live in the city of Joy- Kolkata. I am married to a wonderful person- Deepak, who is not only my biggest support but also my biggest critic. Like me he is a big foodie and he is the one who tastes my food and give me the thumbs up or down and I totally believe in his feedbacks.
We are blessed with a cute little boy- our son Aarav who is the sun shine of our life. Being a toddler, he keeps me on my toe’s whole day; and I love every moment of it.
I hold a master’s degree in Rural development and Management. I did full time job as well as free lancing. Later, due to some health issues, I quit my job. I still work but my job revolves around my family, my home now.
I love travelling to new places, trying new recipes. I also enjoy reading books and articles mostly about food and different cuisines. The history and origin of different cuisines fascinates me.

My Food Journey

How can you stay away from the different shades and nuances of food, when you have a loving and caring mother who cooks the tastiest of food? My childhood memories are full of healthy and tasty meals cooked by my mother. In between my study breaks I would peek into the kitchen and observe her doing wonder and magic with the food. Different flavours fascinated me, but I was more interested in eating rather than cooking.
Later, I started cooking occasionally and being a science student, my experiments were no longer limited to the college lab. With some success and some failure to my credit, I continued my journey of cooking during my later years in college and while doing my job. With passing time my interest grew and after meeting my soulmate I found my partner in crime.
We had the opportunity to live in different vibrant cities: New Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Ranchi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. All these different cities have a distinct flavour and we were fortunate to experience this vast culinary journey of our country.
I do not have a formal training in cooking but I have learned the basics of Indian cooking from my mother and other members of my family. I am self-taught cook and still learning every day. I love reading and trying new recipes. It gives me great pleasure to cook for my family and friends and I make every effort to bring happiness with my food.

Has it ever happened to you when you tried cooking some recipe and it turned out remarkable and you exclaimed ‘eureka’! but next time when you tried the same you felt something is missing? You just wish, if I had written the recipe somewhere! So, now it is quite explicit to you that this is one of the reasons why I created this blog. Also, I wanted to create a space of my own where I can share my experiences, thoughts and communicate with other people through my recipes.
In this blog, you will find both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian recipes. The recipes are tried and tested and will be explained in a simple way. I try to cook with simple ingredients which are fresh and easily available as you will find in the recipes on my blog.
I believe it is easy to cook popular recipes or meals cooked on special occasions but when it comes to everyday cooking, it is really baffling to find variations and create recipes from common vegetables and ingredients. The blog focusses on making everyday recipes interesting and bring variations to your meals with minimum effort.
Be a part of this journey as I am still learning, but love to share my experiences and lessons as I discover more and more.
Your comments, suggestions and reviews are welcome and valuable. It gives encouragement and inspires us to make this blog more productive. I strongly believe that nothing brings people together like good food; so, stay connected and get latest updates and know more about amazing recipes on our website.
Till then, eat good… feel good…
